Favour A (Law A Level)

Being honest, at first, I got thinking about Law due to the influence of law shows I’d enjoyed watching. But what really pushed me to take it as a subject were the conversations I had with students and teachers. Through the conversations, I felt that Law might be something I’d be good at. I've mostly enjoyed the analysis of real-life cases we’ve looked over because it's made the course feel real and interesting. The teachers are super cool and are always happy to help you overcome challenges in the course and the course has definitely helped me become more resilient as a student.

My favourite part of college life is the freedom we have with the 50-50 system because it means that I can schedule how I intend to handle my weeks at college instead of being stuck under a fixed system for 2 years. However, the saying goes “with great power comes great responsibility” so with all that free time you'll always need to make sure you're doing some work. I've learned to take on challenges I’m not confident I’ll succeed in, because through such experiences I've grown.

At first, I was sure of the EPQ topic I was going to research. However, when thinking about the process behind an EPQ, it became apparent that my original topic would be too difficult to do. Things like how explored your topic area is and how much research there's been done on it were my main issues so considering this I did my topic question on Law and Politics which are two widely discussed areas. I would recommend doing an EPQ to people who know they have good time management as this is certainly a skill I had to obtain while doing mine.
